About me
My name is Francesca, and since 2024 I’ve been travelling and living in South America.
Through this project, I share experiences, advice and services designed to help others plan authentic and meaningful journeys.
How this project began
Always drawn to nature and exploration, in 2024 I left Tuscany, where I was born and raised, for a long journey through South America, with the idea of travelling across the continent with a backpack, through trekking, local life and new places to discover.
After those months of travelling, I decided to return to live in San Pedro de Atacama, a place that has gradually become home. It was here that I became involved in tourism and the organisation of local experiences, gaining a closer understanding of the local reality and how the industry works.
This project grew from the combination of first-hand experience, organisational skills and a desire to share a deeper understanding of the destinations.
My way of travelling
I enjoy travelling at a slower pace and with curiosity, taking the time to truly understand the places I visit, the people who live there and their connection to the land.
My background in Earth Sciences and my academic path, culminating in a PhD in geochemistry, have strongly influenced the way I travel: landscapes, geology and the territory are a fundamental part of the experiences I seek and try to share through this project.
Over time, I have learned to combine curiosity, organisation and attention to detail, always aiming to create experiences that are as meaningful as possible while respecting the places I visit.
I also enjoy photography and the way it allows you to tell the story of a place through your own perspective. That’s why all the photographs you find on the blog and website were taken by me.
Where I am today
Today, I live in San Pedro de Atacama, from where I continue exploring the region and travelling through different areas of South America.
Through the blog, personalised itineraries and the organisation of experiences in Atacama and Uyuni, I want to help others discover South America by sharing the beauty, diversity and reality of a continent that is often underestimated or portrayed through many misconceptions.
My goal is to continue growing this project over time, expanding the experiences and destinations I share.
An important part of my work also comes from collaborating with my partner Felix, a Chilean local guide who has been living and working in San Pedro de Atacama for several years. His knowledge of the area and hands-on experience are an important reference point when selecting and organizing the experiences I offer.
